Capt. Joe Petrucco

DSC07723-Edit.jpg

Fishing has always been a passion for me. From as early as I can remember, I wanted to fish. I started out catching chubs in a 5’ wide creek in my back yard in Michigan and from there I progressively mastered every species of fish in fresh and saltwater in the United States. From the Great lakes, Canadian shield, Western rivers, Coastal and Interior Alaska to the Atlantic ocean and Gulf of Mexico I have spent my whole life learning all I could about every fish that swims. I have spent more than 30+ years of 240+ trips a year gaining knowledge. The best part is that I still learn so much daily. The fish are constantly changing and challenging what we know about them. This has kept it really exciting and fun. I’m looking forward to many more years of Joy!

Choosing a charter service

IMG_0089.JPG

You want to hire someone who is pleasant to be with and an expert at every aspect of boating, navigating, and fishing. You want someone who can teach and encourage while being patient and understanding.

There is a good reason why my wife and children love to fish as much as I do! I’ve worked hard throughout my entire career and love to share my passion for fishing and the outdoors with everyone in the family. I have learned so much over my 30+ years of charter fishing that I will share with you!

Cancellations/Deposit

I take a $300 deposit to reserve a date. In the event of a cancellation, I will re-schedule to an open date of your convenience. Cancellations due to weather are at the sole-discretion of the Captain. Deposits are non-refundable, as I cannot book another party as back-up on your day.

Passion

When I was young, my father, who is a Doctor, wanted me to become a doctor too. I of course, wanted to fish! We argued about this for many, many years until one day my father turned to me just after releasing a sailfish and said, ”I think I finally understand now Joe, I keep people alive, but you give them a reason to live. I’m proud of you.”

Photos

Remember to take lots of pictures. Sometimes the best shots are of the sights and natural wonders that you will experience in a day in the Everglades National Park. Bald Eagles, Ospreys, Turtles, Manatees, Crocodiles, and Pelicans are some of the resident creatures you will see in a day. The Mangroves, and untouched, shell filled beaches are breath-taking. The solitude will certainly restore your soul…
